You thought head lice was bad...
This was another assignment for my digital illustration class. The idea was to create four insects (although I call them bugs, there is a difference) from the same "world" (they had to look like they belonged with each other) and present them, either as a pinned collection or depicted in their natural habitats. I had a few Ideas for mine, including the money bugs (with one that burns holes in pockets, one that hides in couch cushions, etc.), book bugs, and hair bugs. I settled on the hair bugs because they seemed the most interesting and disgusting to me.
Like the peacock assignment, I first did a pencil drawing that I drew over with pen, then scanned it into the computer. Then I took it into Photoshop and the rest is history. I had fun with this assignment, especially coming up with the text and names for the bugs. My husband helped me come up with the name for the "Spelunker Bug" and I'm glad he did, otherwise it would have been the booger bug... yuck. So here they are!
